In addition to great local field trips and a native plant sale, the conference will feature workshops and lectures on many timely topics including drought tolerant ornamental plants, edible native plants, natural pest control, rain water harvesting, firewise landscaping, wildscaping, birding by ear, butterfly gardening, and landscape design.  May 18 – 19, 2012 – MG Specialist Training – Plant Propagation – Montgomery County Extension Center, Conroe, Texas

The Master Gardener Specialist – Plant Propagation program is designed to train and certify Master Gardeners to become part of a state corps of Plant Propagation experts and educators. To become a certified Master Gardener Specialist – Plant Propagation, Master Gardeners are required to attend the Master Gardener Specialist training. Registration fee: $180.00, (Includes dinner(1), lunch(1), snacks, drinks, propagation equipment, Power Point CD and resource materials distributed during the course). Mail check made out to: Montgomery County Master Gardener Association (MCMGA) along with the registration form to: Montgomery County Master Gardener –Propagation Course, 9020 Airport Road, Conroe Texas 77303 no later than  April 18th.

June 13 – 15, 2012 – MG Specialist Training - Composter Training – Hosted Bexar County – San Antonio

This Master Gardener Specialist Composter Training was created as an intensive multi-day training that would empower Master Gardeners with knowledge and skills required to effectively support and multiply Texas AgriLife Extension Service efforts in Earth-Kind® environmental educational programs in their counties.  For more complete information see flyer: MG Spec. Registration Fee: $225 payable to Bexar County Master Gardeners, Attn: Angel Torres, 3355 Cherry Ridge, Suite 212, San Antonio, TX 78230- 4818. This includes 2 lunches, 1 dinner, snacks, and other goodies.

Payment and application must be in our office by Friday, May 18. Cancellation must be made by Friday, May 25, as there will be a $100 surcharge.

Texas AgriLIFE Extension Service of Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties in conjunction with the Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association are offering a Master Gardener Rainwater Specialist Training in Washington County on July 19th and 20th, 2012. The training will take place at the W.
